"For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Colour of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times."

PANTONE COLOUR INSTITUTE

So what does this mean? Pantone sets the industry standard for colours of the year so once you have read this I am sure your are going to be noticing this pairing all over the place and everywhere. Are you planning a wedding for this spring or summer? These colours are going to ensure that your styling is bang on trend.

Rose Quartz opens the heart to all types of love - love of self, love of family, love of friends, romantic love, so what better colour to incorporate into your wedding day? It may even leave you feeling a little calmer!

Most blues convey a sense of trust, loyalty, cleanliness, and understanding and often associated with serentity, calming and fidelity.

You can incorporate the colours everywhere you like. Having soft rose quartz bridesmaid dresses Why not team this with baby blue hydrangeas or violets? Or vice versa? A pink classic rose is a classic for a reason.

This year people are moving away from lots of table rounds and getting folk a bit more mixed up. Big rustic trestle tables with vintage lace and more modest table centres. Think style and simplicity. This trend is the perfect way to incorporate your own 'rustic-chic' if that is where your heart lies. Following with this theme, it isn't necessary to have all your table flowers the same. I have seen a massive rise in the incorporation of succulents, ferns, pots and rustic boxes. So much fun to be had just playing around with a colour theme.

Are you going to be a slightly off beat bide? How about helping your groom out....Perfectly manicured nails in Rose Quartz. All bar one. Your ring finger! This is violet blue, there is no way he will get flustered in that special moment where everyone is watching him try to squeeze on your ring. and guess what? It covers your 'something blue' too!

Just remember style and simplicity are the key word this year, Use your colour scheme wisely. Overdoing it will leave your day looking very matchy-matchy. Start with five key elements.  Attire, flowers, cake, invitations and favours.  Start with that and you will have the best idea of where to tone it down, or ramp it up!!

Above all, have fun. Enjoy the preparation of your wedding, it is such a special time.
